First Coast Highlanders
Your favorite Bagpipe Band in Northeast Florida
About our group
The First Coast Highlanders is an all-volunteer Highland bagpipe band based in Clay County, Florida. The band, formed in May 2009 and formerly known as the Clay County Sheriff's Office Pipes and Drums, is Clay County's premiere pipe and drum band.
We are a performance and entertainment band, a teaching organization, and a cultural group. We are community based and promote Celtic culture through music. Our goal is to encourage and support the Celtic culture in our community by providing instruction to anyone interested in learning the Great Highland bagpipes or Highland drums.
The band is the host band for the Northeast Florida Scottish Games and Festival and the St. Augustine Celtic Festival. We participate in many community events in Clay, St. Johns, Duval, and Alachua counties.
Lessons are provided free of charge to anyone who is willing to commit the time and self-discipline to learn. We meet for student lessons at 5 PM and rehearsal at 6 PM every Thursday at the Orange Park Presbyterian Church located at 1905 Park Avenue, Orange Park, FL.
The band is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation and accepts donations which are tax deductible. Funds are used to further the education and awareness of bagpiping and drumming. Please explore this website, and "friend" us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/firstcoasthighlanders
